INTERESES

Combino herramientas geológicas de campo con geoquímica, petrología y geoquímica isotópica para entender la evolución de los Andes en su etapa más temprana, a lo largo de todo el margen chileno y también en Argentina y el sur de Perú. Utilizo como herramientas la geoquímica elemental e isotópica de roca total y minerales ígneos y metamórficos y el mapeo geológico para determinar las fuentes y mecanismos de emplazamiento de los magmas andinos, así como gatillantes y condiciones pre-eruptivas del volcanismo andino actual. Me interesa conocer la evolución de los arcos magmáticos y su relación con la tectónica global durante el mesozoico, y su comparación con los ambientes de margen convergente recientes. También trabajo en la aplicación de métodos geocronológicos en alteración hidrotermal y metamorfismo de muy bajo grado; proxies hidrogeoquímicos que permitan trazar el balance hídrico; y uso de herramientas geocientíficas para el monitoreo de soluciones basadas en la naturaleza o el cuidado y gobernanza de bienes comunes socio-naturales.
