INTERESES

Mi trayectoria incluye estudios sobre la petrología de una amplia gama de tipos de rocas y ambientes tectónicos, desde productos magmáticos y metasomáticos en contextos de subducción, como Chile e Indonesia, hasta basaltos de Plateau en el sur de África austral. Estos estudios se centran en evaluar el origen de rocas y minerales ígneos y metamórficos, identificar sus posibles fuentes y determinar los procesos de alta temperatura involucrados en su evolución, mediante la interpretación de datos geoquímicos elementales y de isótopos radiogénicos y estables.

Esta investigación incluye también la utilización de métodos macroanalíticos como fluorescencia de rayos X, difracción de rayos X y espectrometría de masas por inducción de plasma con multicolectores, entre otros; así como métodos microanalíticos como QEMSCAN, microscopía electrónica de barrido, microsonda electrónica, ablación láser y espectrometría de iones secundarios.
